Golden milk (turmeric latte): tasty and healthy!
The Power of Turmeric Milk
Want a healthy alternative to caffeinated drinks and smoothies? Then how about trying ‘golden milk’, or ‘turmeric latte’ by adding a teaspoon of turmeric to your milk?
The golden colour comes from the health-boosting spice turmeric; this contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiseptic properties. And, as a bonus, it’s meant to help with digestion and weight loss.
Golden milk is also tasty and comforting!
Try adding some of these extra ingredients to get your perfect cup of turmeric latte:
- Black pepper (Really! This boosts the amount of curcumin you absorb)
Need an extra energy boost? Add a teaspoon of Jersey Dairy butter, or a dash of Jersey Dairy double cream or coconut oil. (Shake or blend for an extra-creamy texture.)
You can enjoy your drink chilled or warmed.
Once milk is warmed, you can taste the sweetness of lactose (milk sugar) so don’t even need to add any sweeteners, making your drink even healthier!
