School trips return!

After more than a year, we are delighted to be able to welcome local school children back on our farms. We have an impressive fifteen school trips scheduled to take place over the next three weeks with subjects including ‘Farm to fork’, ‘Farming in Jersey’ and ‘Jobs people do’. It’s going to be a busy three weeks!

At Jersey Dairy we want to share the story of the Jersey cow, our farms and our delicious and nutritious Jersey milk. Our farm trips are tailored to meet the needs of each class, so pupils can experience the entire sequence, ‘From Grass to Glass.’

Although Covid-19 interrupted the Jersey Dairy Education Programme, thankfully, due to Microsoft TEAMS we were still able to take classes on a fantastic journey visiting our farms ‘virtually’. Jean Treleven, Head of Education at Jersey Dairy managed to capture exciting elements which happened on farm, while children were able to learn from the comfort of their classroom.

During 2019-2020 we had over 1,000 local school children visit our farms, and now we can’t wait to have them back!

If your school would like to arrange a farm visit for the September term, please get in touch and email customer.services@jerseydairy.je.

From September 2021 we also hope to welcome school visitors back to Jersey Dairy HQ in Trinity.
