Jersey Dairy Writing Competition

Jersey Dairy wants you to create and submit an original piece of writing that responds to the following title:

What does the Island’s dairy industry and the Jersey cow mean to you?

You are encouraged to share real life stories, lessons and thoughts about Jersey Dairy and the Island’s dairy industry, careers and education in the industry and/or any other related dairy focus that has impacted your life.

Your entry can be fact or fiction, poetry or prose.

There will be three age categories and the entries will be marked by Jean Treleven, Head of Farm Education at Jersey Dairy.

Age categories

Ages 6-10 max. 300 words

Ages 11-15 max. 500 words

Ages 16+ max. 1000 words

The winning piece from each category will receive 6x 900ml Jersey Dairy ice cream tubs. The overall winner will also have a farm and dairy tour (post Covid-19).

This competition is open to anyone wishing to participate who is resident in Jersey, Channel Islands. By entering this competition, you confirm that you are solely responsible for the information, data, text, and other materials included in the submission and you are happy for Jersey Dairy to share or use the piece submitted on their website /and or for promotional purposes. Entries will be accepted via email and the judge’s decision is final.
